What is ACTS?

An ACTS Retreat is a (multi)parish-based event which offers parishioners an opportunity to experience the love of Jesus Christ. This in turn fosters a desire for intentional discipleship.

ACTS Retreats are given by parishioners for parishioners, and in this way, serve to build Christian community at a parish.

ACTS Retreats are held in 570+ Catholic Parishes, representing 74 Dioceses in the United States and an additional 28 Dioceses Internationally.

How does it work?

ACTS Retreats are hosted in a cycle of retreats. JPII ACTS will host a Men's Weekend Retreat and a Women's Weekend Retreat each cycle.

About our Patron Saint

We have chosen to identify our ACTS retreat with a Patron Saint. Because we have a unique "Cluster" Retreat with Annunziata, Holy Family, St. Ann, St. Bernadette, and St. Eloi we wanted to make sure that we had an identity that was for everyone. We couldn't think of a better saint than John Paul II. JPII, as he is affectionately known, was the supreme pontiff of the Catholic Church for nearly 27 years from 1978 to 2005. He fought against communism, started World Youth Day, advocated for the poor, taught us how to love, showed us the dignity of all humans, and reached millions of Christians face-to-face and heart-to-heart. He was our generation's boldest example of how to live the Gospel with great vigor and humility - while at the same time teaching us how to suffer with grace and die with hope in Christ Jesus.  Following the example of John Paul's earthly life, we hope that we too can say to Christ,  "Totus tuus ego sum, et omnia mea tua sunt" "I belong entirely to you, and all that I have is yours."

Pope John Paul II, Pray for us.
